Research indicates that self-compassion is a powerful source of coping and resilience, radically improving mental and physical well-being. Self-compassion is turning compassion inward. We give ourselves support and encouragement rather than being cold or judgmental when challenges and difficulties arise in our lives. Psychodrama can uniquely help prepare us to move clients into self-compassion by examining their blocks to spontaneity and creativity in their lives. Explore taking Tara Brach’s RAIN technique into action to create change.

All our Lives are a Cycle of Loss and Healing. We move through Grief as we would in the current of a river, the current’s force at times too much to navigate. In this maelstrom of Grief & Loss there are often no words to heal or actions to lesson our sorrow.
The experience of loss is unique to every individual; therefore, it if difficult to define specific criteria that move a client through a healing process. Psychodrama offers clients a Catharsis of Abreaction: we cry the tears and find words to name our pain. But more importantly, we experience a Catharsis of Integration to build momentum to move into the action necessary to find closure and to integrate loss into our lives. Through the Lens of the Cycle of Loss & Healing, this workshop will delve into the issues surrounding loss and unresolved grief through elements of psychodrama theory and practice.
